Me is sooo freakin' weird
Feb. 10th, 2003 06:01 pmI was having a serious conversation at tutorial today with Selina and Kelly, and I found out that Selina has the same fears about death as I do. What if we die and all there is is this black, empty void? That's a terrible thought. I HOPE that it will be like falling into an eternal, peaceful sleep.
And we were also talking about religion, and how it's so horrible that some ppl are against gays just because they are gay. I dunno about you, but I think that's messed up. I mean, until I was, like, 13 or 14, I didn't even understand what it was. But now that I do, I personally dont find a single thing wrong with it. They're PEOPLE. They can damn well make their own decisions. I mean, go ahead, have fun...knock yourself OUT. (Ok, that didnt sound right, but that's not how I meant it...>blush<) Sry.
And for those who claim the bible as their excuse...where does it specifically say that it's wrong? I think that's just an excuse...because ppl are afraid of what they don't understand. That's not neccessarily a bad thing... it's a survival instinct, on the basest level, if you think about it. But you should respect other ppl's decisions. It just pisses me off that some ppl refuse to.
And so there we were, Selina, Kelly and me, and we're sitting there, just pausing in our conversation about death. A thoughtful, profound silence decends. Finally, Selina speaks out softly, looking at her hand..."Dude, is that a SPIDER?"
Yeah, enough philosophical crap. I'm sorry, I just had to get that out of my system...
On to happier stuff.
Today in square-dancing, I had to dance with THEM again. Who are them, you ask. The BOYS...
Those beef-witted featherbrained rattleskulled clod-pated dim-domed noodle-noggined sapheaded lunkknobbed BOYS.*
*From The Princess Bride... God, I love this one passage from it...it's sooo funny...but far to long to write out here. Go check the book out from the library.
Anyway, I have a NEW bruise... I hate my life.
Yet another update about Aragorn's names... AGAIN... Strider is technically just the translation of the name Telcontar. >sigh<
He's also known as Envilyatar, which was, like Elessar, a nickname given to him by his subjects. Envilyatar means the Renewer, and both Telcontar and Envilyatar are Quenya.
Ok, I'm done now.
