Jan. 5th, 2003 05:30 pmThis week was highly productive. Not really, but I had fun. I went to see the Two Towers again, this time with Marina. She used to be my neighbor, until they moved. Now, they're about 2-3 blocks away, and we're still friends and our families see each other every now and then. That was fun. Lego-chan would be good on a skate-board, don't you ppl think? >giggle< That's a good one!! Skater boy Legolas.
My family got Dad a new computer for his b-day, and I got his old one. The one I named Bloody Stupid. Honestly, it's a peice of crap, but it still works (most of the time) so it'll be ok for me. Unfortunatly, it doesn't have internet yet, so I'm still on dad's old one for now.
I finally decided what song I'm gonna sing for Choir Finals. 'Send in the Clowns' by Stephen Sondheim, if any of you have ever heard of it. If somebody (ANYBODY!) would care to accompany me, I'll sell them my soul!! And a few chocolate chip cookies.
Speaking of LotR, I'm reading the Fellowship in Russian, and some of the translations are driving me NUTS!!!!!
I mean, first of all, the title is translated as Guardians, and Strider is Wanderer. of course, that last is forgivable, because you can't translate Strider any more than you can translate Cutter. Believe me, I've tried. And they said Boromir has curly hair. Can you picure that? I can't either. Hmph. I translated 2 paragraphs from Russian into English for my friend Kelsey. Took me almost half an hour. 'course, that's counting me having to go ask my dad for help when I found a couple of words I didn't know how to translate. You gotta understand, this was done completely without the English book, so yeah. I'll put up my translation, and the original version when I have tbe internet on my own computer.
I can't believe we have to go back to school tommorrow. What I really can't believe is I'M GONNA BE 16 IN TWO DAYS!!!!
